Year 6 students gifted this project to their School, Subiaco Primary School, Western Australia. They raised the money to pay for the making of a planter box that the students use as seating on school grounds. The projects was supervised by Lesley Hayes Walsh. Monia designed the artwork bearing all names of the students. She also advised on the arrangements of the students' drawings covering the planter box. The drawing/writing of the names follows the tracing of a Greavillia plant. Greavillias are endemic plants to Western Australia. The paintings composing the frieze at the bottom of the planter box were made by the students during their art classes. The painting technic is inspired by indigenous dot painting. |
